The situation with WinSrv104 is now resolved. Status Update - 15/05/2012 09:29:13
We are aware that many files have been restored with data that is two weeks old. This has occurred due to corruption of the hard disks where initially it was not possible to retrieve all of the latest data and we had to revert to our secondary FTP backup copies in order to restore service as quickly as possible. We will however be examining the failed disks further as soon as all outstanding migration issues have been resolved. From this we hope to extract the more recent data and make available to customers that are in need of this. We will provide further updates on this shortly.

In the meantime if you have been affected by this outage and have any further issue with your web site or email, please contact our support team in the usual way and we will resolve for you as quickly as possible. We again thank our customers for their patience and support while we have been working to return service to normal.

Status Update - 14/05/2012 09:16:36
All web sites have now been restored to the holding server and most are back online as normal. If your site is not working as you expect please first see our Important Note section in the update below. If this does not apply to you, please raise a support ticket via the ticket system and we will investigate as a priority. We kindly request that you do not use LiveChat or Telephone support to report issues for this server at the moment as it just slows us down. We'll be working through the ticket system and handling all WinSrv104 related support tickets as the priority throughout the day and appreciate you logging tickets here in order to help us resolve all outstanding issues as quickly as possible.

Status Update - 13/05/2012 20:50:52
The majority of web site data, MS SQL Server and MySQL databases have now been restored to the holding server. As such over 80% of web sites are now back online. The remaining 20% should complete within the next 3 to 4 hours. EMail data will be restored as soon as the web site data transfer has completed. EMail forms some of the largest amount of data that needs to be transferred and as such the process will run over night and is expected to complete by 05:00 tomorrow morning.

Important Note
If your domain name points to your web space on our servers using our recommended method of Name Server records, you need do nothing further. However if you have set an A Name record to direct your web site to your space on the server, you will need to update the IP address entry to: 213.175.221.248

This also applies if you have specified the old server's IP address (94.76.230.101) anywhere within your web site code or use for any other purpose to connect to the server. In these cases you should specify "winsrv104.storminternet.net" as the server address as using an alias means the underlying IP is automatically updated by us.

We will continue to place updates here until the full restoration process is complete. We again would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your support while we have worked to resolve this situation. It's much appreciated by us.

Status Update - 13/05/2012 09:27:23
The new holding server setup is complete and data continues to be downloaded to the server. We have been working throughout the night to complete this and sites should now start coming back online as data is restored for them with the majority completely restored within the next 12 hours. We very much thank you for your patience and understanding while we have worked to rectify this disaster situation. As a form of appreciation and token of goodwill we will be offering a form of compensation to all customers affected by this issue. Further details on this will follow as soon as all is restored and normal service is resumed.

Status Update - 12/05/2012 15:14:13
WinSrv104 hosted at IP address 94.76.230.101 has suffered a catastrophic disk failure. This has been caused by a failed RAID array which has corrupted all three hard disks on the server. We are now in the process of setting up a new temporary server in order to get sites and hosted services back online ASAP. Once the server is setup we will begin restoring web sites from backup copies we hold. We estimate this process to complete within the next 18 hours. The reason for the lengthy delay is due to the amount of data that needs to be transferred.

We will continue to post further updates here and can assure you we are doing everything we can to restore service ASAP. We apologise for the inconvenience that this causes and thank you for your patience and understanding while we work to resolve this issue and resume normal service.

We have noticed some issues with few RAID config files of WinSrv104 and hence we are reconfiguring it.

Our DataCenter Engineers are looking into this issue on highest priority.

We will keep update the status here once the server is back to normal state.

In the meantime we apologise for the inconvenience this causes and thank you for your patience and understanding while we work to resolve.
